All those stories, photos, and objects that the people from Langerbrugge shared with me I will do an installation creating a collective memory space. Trying to reveal what is hidden in the collective memory through audios that contain the stories that I recorded during the interviews.
My first contact with Langerbrugge was when I took the ferry to cross the canal. From the ferry, I saw the impressive building, the power plant, which touched me not only with its imposing architecture but also by the desolation it radiated. At that moment I realized that I wanted to work with light in some way. Therefore, in the installation space, the light works as a symbol of the beginning and evolution of Langerbrugge / Kerkbrugge and that will resonate along with the stories of their inhabitants. (see below the video)
The system of the light was developed by Eduardo Jiménez/Monodata who usually collaborates with me.
Note: The presentation of the installation was postponed due to the pandemic. Soon will be presented online.
