Collective Conversation

Artist in residence at KONNEKTOR

As a result of my artist in  residence at Konnektor I did an installation creating a collective memory space with those stories, photos, and objects that the people from Langerbrugge shared with me. Trying to reveal what is hidden in the collective memory through audios that contain the stories that I recorded during the interviews.

My first contact with Langerbrugge was when I took the ferry to cross the canal. From the ferry, I saw the impressive building, the power plant, which touched me not only with its imposing architecture but also by the desolation it radiated. At that moment I realized that I wanted to work with light in some way. Therefore, in the installation space, the light works as a symbol of the beginning and evolution of Langerbrugge / Kerkbrugge and that will resonate along with the stories of their inhabitants. (see below the video)

The system of the light was developed by Eduardo Jiménez/Monodata who usually collaborates with me.
